Grief, Loss and Letting Go

What I have learned about grief, loss and letting go...

It is painfully hard.
It is not wanting to give up someone whom you have loved for so long.
It is an ache and a sadness for what once was.
It is trying to hold every good memory so tight so you don't forget the sweet times that once were.
It is crying so many tears you feel you can't cry anymore...yet they still come.
It is an emptiness and a longing for a rescuer to ease the pain.
It is wondering if you will ever feel whole again.
It is a piece missing from your heart that never gets replaced only seems to go numb.
It is an unbearable sadness that only The Rescuer can soothe.
It does get easier with time to endure.
It comes to change us for the better.
It brings us a gift of compassion.
It helps us connect to one another.
It is how we grow.
It can be a gift if we are willing to receive it.
It is beautiful in its time.
It is life altering, but life-changing.
It is an ending and a beginning.
It can be healed. It will be healed.
The Rescuer comes to heal it.
It will return...but not without permission of The Rescuer.
